Official Launch

Our inaugural fundraising event was held on Friday, April 9, 2004 on the Harvard campus, in collaboration with the HCPDS to mark World Health Day 2004, the theme of which is "Safe Roads".  Professor Wilson Odero, the Dean of Moi University's School of Public Health in Kenya, who has conducted extensive research on traffic crashes in urban Kenya, joined other distinguished speakers to discuss the challenges of road traffic injuries in Africa and effective strategies to improve the situation in a seminar format at the Harvard Faculty Club.  Immediately following the seminar, HASAN hosted a reception at which Mr. Kenneth Turner, CEO of Africana.com, with whom Philippe worked for several years, gave the keynote address.   Click HERE to read more about the Launch.
