Eligibility
Membership is open to all members of the Harvard alumni community. Previous membership in the Harvard African Students Association (HASA) or being of African origin are not pre-requisites for membership in HASAN. As long as you are interested in, and committed to, African affairs and willing to participate and contribute to HASAN goals, you are welcome to join.

Membership Profile

HASAN to date has made impressive strides from the mere list-serve of about 30 individuals it was 4 yrs ago. As of May 31, 2004, we were 220 members strong, living in Africa, USA, Europe and Asia. Our member base spans alumni from the Harvard graduate schools from the late 1960s to recent graduates from all the Harvard Schools. We are lawyers, professors, artists, doctors, graduate students, writers, teachers, consultants, bankers, politicians and parents.

As a HASAN member you will be able to:

Participate in the HASAN Listserv & Member Forum
Vote in HASAN, online and at Annual Meetings
Run for office on HASAN Board of Directors
Serve on HASAN Committees
Attend HASAN Annual Reunions
Receive Veritas Africana, HASAN's newsletter.

Membership Dues
Membership dues are a critical source of revenue for HASAN operating costs (eg. Web site development, newsletter publication, and fundraising). In order to excel, HASAN needs each member to pay his/her dues annually.

The annual dues schedule is as follows (in US dollars):

$40, Bronze Member *
$100, Silver Member **
$200, Gold Member ***

Dues-paying members will be recognized on this website and future issues of Veritas Africana, HASAN's official newsletter.

New Members

Joining HASAN is simple:

1. Please complete the Membership Request Form below. We encourage you to use your <@post.harvard.edu> email address to simplify the verification process.

2. Please pay your annual membership dues upon receipt of approval of your membership request which you will receive by email within 48 to 72 hours of your request. You will then be given access to the Member's Only area with access to Member News, Forum and Directory.
